UYFC Organized Media & Public Relations Conference

Phnom Penh: The Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia held a Media and Public Relations conference on the topic of "Contents Creation, Delivery, and Social Responsibility."

The conference was attended by the President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, Mr. Hun Many, and the Minister of Information, Mr. Khieu Kanharith, as well as social media experts, on the afternoon of December 11, 2022, at the KAMPUS building.

The event was also attended by Mr. Neth Pheaktra, Spokesman of the Ministry of Environment, and Meta Public Policy Manager Heng Pheakdey, Tik Tok Public Policy Manager Ms. Kyu Kyu Thein, as well as Mr. Leang Delux, Chief Executive Officer and founder of ThmeyThmey News, to share theoretical experiences.

Mr. Hun Many stated in his opening remarks that this conference is an important meeting to strengthen and enhance the capacity of UYFC members as well as contribute to the government's training of young people in the field of media and public relations.

"Content creators play an important role in educating the social mindset and developing the nation, which not only analyzes socio-political concerns separately but also integrates economic, geographical, political, and other aspects," he said.

Meta Public Policy Director Heng Pheakdey and Tik Tok Public Policy Manager Ms. Kyu Kyu Thein also shared tips on how to use their social media platforms correctly and securely.

In his closing remarks, Minister of Information Khieu Kanharith expressed his appreciation for the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, which organized the symposium to train young people in media and public relations and to be socially responsible.

He also gave practical examples to help the participants who attended the conference a better understanding of media.

He said: "When I talk with and without a microphone, which one is louder? Of course, when using a microphone, the sound is clearly louder than the microphone, which is the effect of the media: the louder you speak, the more others hear."

The Minister of Information also urged the media and students in the field of media and public relations to work as a team in content creation, delivery, and sharing.
